Jiu Jitsu is the unarmed combat art of the Bushi, the Warrior Class
of Japan. It is a comprehensive fighting art that encompasses
punching, kicking, throwing, jointlocking, weapons, pressure points,
vascular restraints,weapon disarms, body manipulation, grappling -
both standing and ground, resuscitations , concepts of strategy and
tactics.
As such it is the premier skill of self defense arts. It is
currently used for sport, self defense
and as a vehicle for our student's personal
development.
It is the Martial Art of Choice; utilized by the military, police
forces, security.
personnel and elite units.
Why ? --- because it is practical, effective and has a
proven record of accomplishment as a fighting art.
It is now taught to men, women and children as
the best self defense.
Mississauga Jiujitsu holds the enviable position of being the
foremost of Jiujitsu clubs that holds to the concept of
rinkyoken. or adaptability to all circumstances.
Mississauga Jiujitsu was established in 1994 by Henry Hughes,
a student of Gerry Watson. Sensei Hughes holds a 4th degree Black
Belt in Jiujitsu. He is the author of the book Jiujitsu
Combatto.
Sensei
Watson was voted Instructor of the Year , 1990 and his school
Red Sun was voted School of the Year as was Sensei Walter Berlin. Mr
Watson,in turn. was a student of Shihan Forrester, the highest
ranking Jiujitsu Instructor in Canada, Founder of Canadian Jiujitsu
and the Founder of the World Council of Jiujitsu
Organizations.
Mississauga Jiujitsu's main dojo is located at Huron Park
Community Center in Mississauga with classes at various other
locations.
The
school offers world class training at a very reasonable
price.
